Bc he was rude to the teacher (not his "homeroom" teacher) and disruptive to classmates. He LOVES math and has been so excited to do the harder stuff, so the fear of losing that challenge seems to have motivated him to at least try to not be a jerk!

Ugh, I'm sorry you're having to go through this! We've had our growing pains with our son too, not kicked out yet but not smooth sailing by any measure. The latest is they're now doing math on different levels within 2nd grade and he was threatened with not being able to stay in the high level

Is there any way for you to contact his prior teacher(s) that did work well with him, and ask for specific things they did that you could tell his new teacher to try?

They just need one more perfect notebook and it'll solve all their dysfunction!

I made the mistake of taking 2 minutes alone before bedtime and I really don't want to reemerge from this. I have a tube of mini PB M&Ms and a big mug of water and could absolutely last until the morning without anything else
