100% this. I’ve made small time savings with one or two tools but the seriously big wins are going to take *years*. And if businesses were ever charged what it actually costs to use gpt or copilot, watch them drop sucscriptions

Ruining a great annual celebration of camp is just another reason for Netanyahu to do it

Rich people paying their kids into private schools should have the cost of private school fees taxed directly into state education budget.

Shame there isn’t a 2000 year old story about this they could read

I can’t get how this govt is cowed by the rw press most of the time, but on the occasions they decide to go their own way, they make it as hard as possible

I think it’s true you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but the problems of our establishment press/politics are so deep that I’m not sure winning people over makes much difference.

Most people aren’t that not politics and believe what the journalists write.

It was just one or two bad apples honest and really, how awful, smug and entitled are Steve coogan and Hugh grant anyway

Would be a shame if we had to throw our weight behind “leave”

It’s very much a centrist / leftists space. I don’t miss the nazis on Twitter , but I do tend to find the posts on here fall within a narrow range of views or interests, so I interact less. And of course the news is unremittingly depressing

Agreed, a lot of people would vote for them under those circumstances, a choice between the bad and absolutely disastrous. Can’t see lib dems and greens being able to scale up enough before next election.

Labour doing its best to be irrelevant right now. Policy seems to be to hope an increasingly febrile right wing & its many, many enablers just go quiet for the next few years. Not that there were any clues to suggest the opposite

The problem imagining a world without these people is that they occupy so many key positions of power, including majority of media voices. Which is not by accident.

Not really the future we expected growing up in the 90s.

Yes, it feels just a continuation of the spirit of the Iraq war buildup. Shameless across all channels lying, led by bad faith actors. Anyone speaking out is taken down. The net effect is the bad people get to carry on doing bad things for longer, until the evidence is overwhelming.

Because so much of our defence and security is tied up with the US, and it’ll be years before Europe is in a position to deal with Russia without that assistance.

That we never considered the need for a plan b is up there with all the other short sighted / term f*ck ups that characterize our age

This feels the likely outcome. Putin has staked hundreds of billions of spending, entire Cold War inventory, 1m+ lives lost & many humiliations to a much smaller country. In other contexts this would be domestically catastrophic, chastening. Anyone paying attention can see it hasn’t been.

50 guys jumping out of a Penske truck and 80% of them have their pants fall down and trip over each other in a big pile of bare asses and flopping balls. Keystone Kops routines but with almost all of it being strictly about sack and hole exposure in front of large crowds of ruthless insta models.
