One of the wilder political things in recent history is that Project 2025 publicly released a 900 page document laying out their plans to roll back 100 years of human progress and then during the campaign Republicans just said "no we're not :)" and then they won and now they're doing it all.

Walz: I think they hate public education because it’s easier to run an authoritarian government if you don’t have a population that knows.

GOP messaging also never does this. When the right freaked about the IRS not approving Tea Party groups for nonprofit status, no Republican was out there saying "of course, we agree that the IRS has a role in rooting out scams" - it was just guns-a-blazin' opposition.
What is with these people excusing Musk deepshittery
Listen – it’s not nuts to ask federal employees to report what they’re working on. My staff has to do weekly reports too.

But the WAY Musk is doing this? What’s he gonna do, read 2 million emails? This is just not serious stuff.

Republicans say more “cops in schools.”

Cops only make these problems worse.
There were tens of officers at Uvalde while there was still an active shooter. And Texas (and the GOP) just shrugs.

Literally all they’re doing is a private equity play. They need these offices so they’ll have to rent them back putting further strain on the budget and justifying further cuts (while their friends make money on the deal)
NEW: The General Services Administration, staffed at its upper levels by Elon Musk associates, plans to sell 500-plus buildings—some of which house government agencies and the offices of US senators.

I need centrist Dems to stop kowtowing to the center right.

“Principled” conservatives leave their principles at the door every day as they enable the Trump regime. The “moderate” Repubs work with MAGA and win big.

The moderate Dems should be building bridges with the progressive left.
