These temperatures dropped fast. Donate here or Listening House for max impact.
It's very cold, especially overnight! If you find yourself with any extra fall or winter clothes or blankets, please consider bringing them to any of our drop-off locations! ❤️
And this temp drop won't stop: the low tomorrow night is supposed to be 37°... the low was 71° just last week.

If you are in the Twin Cities & have extra blankets and cold weather clothing, consider donating to @supplydepotmpls.bsky.social - our unhoused neighbors could probably use warm things!

Some news: tomorrow at 9am, Ted Koppel + CBS Sunday Morning will air a two-part story on the devastating surge of full-time workers being pushed into homelessness.

I'll be interviewed along with two families from There Is No Place for Us. It would mean a lot if you'd watch and help spread the word.

Let me say this without hesitation or ambiguity - THIS WILL KILL PEOPLE. People who are already operating at the top of their capacity in an environment that is already trying daily.

I know I can seem kind of aloof from movement drama sometimes. And I know this framing can be reductive but: we steward a community pantry at the end of our driveway and inadvertently seeing who picks up from it, who is my neighbor who needs it, makes me less obsessed with my own hurt feelings.

Evicting this camp compounds the trauma of the residents. All shelter beds are full. Gratitude to @moonpalacebooks.bsky.social for offering a respite space.

I think Care Chexx is/was a great idea - more respite beds are deeply needed. People in shelter are often are refused surgeries because there is no location for discharge. I wish the permitting had been cleared first.
