More experimentation with modern video compositing. There are some really terrific tools out there now. This was composed with the MacOS app 'Riveo', then looped with FCP.

since covid, my wife and i have become big Garden People because, with social distancing, it was a real outlet. Peppers are the only thing that grow in our dumb clay backfill soil, so, I make hot sauce every year.

Here is this year's label. The Arabic text is the Arabic name for the Burning Bush.

In college, my buddy (who makes real movies now) and I made an entirely improvised Earthbound mockumentary.

We won a runner-up prize (still precious), but, I am not sure anybody noticed the many, many Easter eggs and deep lore references we included, namely a cameo by @clydemandelin.bsky.social!

This evening, I drew a Bauhaus-inspired eagle statue that went on a flyer advertising a Bahá'í high holiday, the Twin Birthdays (the birthdays of the Báb an Bahá'u'lláh). I thought it turned out pretty cool.

still a little proud of this Arabic graffiti tag-style painting I did. it says "Zahra / زهرة", which is my niece's name. "Zahra / زهرة " 's literal meaning is 'flower,' but can also refer to a queen.

part of a series i have been working on, where i take arabic words and build compositions based on their meaning. this one is "naeumah", meaning, "softness."

i found this neat variable font that controls how much of the big, chunky, machine lettering gets swallowed up by land erosion. it's called 'climate crisis', and it is free. here's a design i made with it real quick to show you what i mean.

the word "Earth" made to look like soil on ocean. it is repeated 5 times, with each new line showing that the letter forms have been swallowed from the outside, similar to how the oceans will cover land if the polar ice caps continue to melt and release sequestered water.

I don't give a single fuck about the military, but I would like to point out that the "no beards" policy part of that stupid ass vanity speech is unsurprisingly, straight up racist. I stopped being clean shaven years ago because I, and many black men, suffer from pseudofolliculitis.
