Never imagined my name would appear in the same article as Tony Abbott’s - much less on the same side of the issue!

PM John Curtin established the Department of Postwar Reconstruction three years before WW2 ended - Ukraine's recovery shouldn't wait either.

“Maybe the most remarkable political & technological story of the whole year happened a couple of weeks ago in Australia where the government in Canberra, announced that they now have so much solar energy… that Australians will get 3 free hours of electricity day”

Life continues in Ukraine. We can't all send missile defence, but that's not all that's needed. Ukrainians need to know that what they're fighting for really will be there, and Putin needs to know that what he wants will never happen.

We have a report on this out next Monday.
Even during blackouts caused by Russian attacks,Ukrainians find ways to run businesses, study, cook, perform concerts,&do so much more

We are beyond tired but we are resilient

Paris is an agreement to stabilise the climate by doing as much as we can and never less than before to reduce GHG emissions.

Dropping net zero and repealing all our efforts to prevent emissions is 100% leaving Paris, no matter what anyone gaslights www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
Leaked Coalition talking points direct MPs to argue dumping net zero does not conflict with Paris agreement
Exclusive: Guidance distributed to MPs seeks to pre-empt questions about plan’s compatibility with Paris agreement, indicating opposition is aware of potential breach

Very interesting & wide ranging poll on Australian views of PRC-relations

- Most Australian want closer economic relations with Taiwan
- 68% support backing Philippines in South China Sea
- 50% agree that AUKUS makes us safer (25% disagree)

The Nationals seem to be calling for public funding for new coal power plants.

I’m curious where they’d get to if they just kept getting everything they asked for

AI has the answer about why this triple-zero failure is even technically possible:
November 18, 2025 at 6:15 AM
What the hell is going on with triple-0? I’ve never heard of people being unable to connect before but suddenly it’s everywhere.

Having an old handset is not a valid reason to fail to connect.

Why is this even difficult?

Asked how Russia’s invasion of Ukraine affects energy prices in Australia, Sussan Lay said “we’ve moved well past that.”

She might want to tell Ukraine, because they’re still being killed every day by Russian occupiers.

I’m fine with proscribing any Nazi-derivative group as a terrorist organisation even if they aren’t planning violence (yet).

The right to associate doesn’t need to include associating with Nazis.

Huge kudos to the SMH for the way they’ve covered this story. It’s been a massive news week, but they didn’t let anything knock this off the front page.
We CANNOT allow Nazism to return to power.

The chilling story we’ve thrown everything at covering
I believe it is the media’s job to call out white supremacists and make sure the public knows how serious the threat is.

It’s time to proscribe these psychos as a terrorist organisation.

It’s intolerable to imagine that they could register a Nazi party in Australia today & the only thing standing in their way is they can’t use an obscene name.
Bloody hell.
A 17 year old Canberra boy (a nazi) was planning a chemical weapon attack in Canberra.
He wanted to attack non-white homeless people with chlorine gas, and live-stream it.

He said “white revolution is the only solution.” 😳

The defence agreement with Indonesia helps solidify the notion that Australia would support the defence of anyone who was attacked in our region.
It builds trust that our defense investments are in the interests of all our neighbours. An extremely good development.

The Libs say they want to be serious about emissions, remain in the Paris Agreement, but abandon Net Zero.
But the Paris Agreement is an agreement to only become more (not less) committed to preventing emissions.
So if they don't know what Paris is, how serious are they?

‼️ This is important.

Russia and its propaganda machine targeting the Global South seek to build a cheap & inexhaustible reserve of expendable soldiers.
