“They didn’t assault.”

That Trump is allowed to deny the reality we saw with our eyes on Jan 6th, that is on tape!, & just ramble on with lie after lie, is a total indictment of our failed media industry. How reporters can just stand there as he says this stuff is beyond me. Have some self respect!
Reporter: You are going to meet with first responders today, but you pardoned hundreds of people who assaulted first responders.

Trump: No, I pardoned people who were assaulted themselves… by our government. What I did was a great thing for humanity.

Yeah. I'm a lifelong Dem, but Dems aren't making their case as the party that actually cares about people or equal application of the law. Like seriously, do something to stop this guy. Anything.
I don’t want to hear a single Democratic congressperson complaining about the pardon of January 6 insurrectionists when they are complicit in pardoning the greatest insurrectionist of them all… the current illegitimate, disqualified squatter in the White House, Donald J. Trump. #14thNow
It is hard to overstate the destructive and devastating impact of Trump’s sweeping pardons of January 6 participants.

It is now clear when they say they were because of Trump, he agrees.

Sadly, only 1 of the 1,500 pardoned insurrectionists got the message. But I'm glad she has a modicum of common sense.
This is an amazing quote, from a Jan 6 prisoner who is refusing Trump’s pardon.

I know everyone cares more about TikTok being banned/immediately resurrected and possibly bought by Trump and Snoop shilling got MAGA, but what's up with Vol 2 of the Jack Smith report? Is Cannon just sitting on that until after tomorrow? WTAF? That's more important than those other two things, btw.

@annabower.bsky.social Where's your dispatch? Can't seem to find it. Could totally be user error on my part.
COMING UP: Will Judge Cannon block the Justice Department from releasing the special counsel’s report on the classified documents case to members of Congress?

I’m in Ft. Pierce ahead of a hearing on the matter at 2 pm ET.

No phones in court, but watch for my reporting and dispatch later today.

Anyone know what happened at the hearing with Aileen Cannon today re: Vol. II of the SC report on Trump's mishandling of classified documents?

“All bluster, very low substance… he’s an armchair tough guy. He said that John McCain is not a war hero yet he sought his own five military deferments.”

This is exactly what Joe needs to do. He's robed in immense power, and he's immune for official acts. Safeguarding national security is an official act. Do it, Joe. For America.

Takeaways From Jack Smith’s Report on the Trump Election Case
Jack Smith wrote that Donald Trump would have been convicted had the case been allowed to proceed and explained why he didn’t pursue charges of incitement of the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.

That should tell folks everything they need to know about the character of the incoming guy.
Yep.
Jack Smith's team considered bringing an Insurrection Act charge, saying there were "reasonable arguments that it might apply" but ultimately finding it posed "litigation risk." https://buff.ly/3C8zaSs

Everyone: Please take the time to read it. This man is a clear danger to our national security, but he's headed back to the big show blc...folks like that he swears, calls people names, says outrageous shit, hates immigrants and women, and threatens to invade allied nations. Did I get that right?

Any idea of a timeline on the 11th circuit decision? Time is short. Just trying to understand how to set my expectations. Thanks!
She can do wrong things all she wants to buy time for Trump until the 11th circuit cleans it up.

Why was the due date for a response to Aileen Cannon's request for clarification on references to Vol. I of the SC report due on a Sunday, a day when both the DOJ and the courts are closed? Oh, that's right. To buy another day and then put in another injunction to run out the 5 days left. JFC.
