I urge Canadian’s to file formal complaints online if they find misleading or ambiguous product labeling (with regards to country of origin). I do not want to buy USA made goods.

Report misleading labelling! You can upload images or scanned receipts.

"In our federal system, the National Gov. possesses only limited powers; the States and the people retain the remainder. The States have broad authority to enact legislation for the public good—what we have often called a 'police power.' The Fed. Gov., by contrast, has no such authority."-SCOTUS '14

This is a pretty important point!
The correct way to connect the authoritarian presence in LA and the Big Beautiful Bill is that the bill gives the government the resources to do this in dozens of cities at once. So if you don't like what's happening in LA, it's coming to your town if the bill passes.

I ran an experiment, simultaneously posting articles on Bluesky and X, and then testing to see how many people actually clicked and read them. The numbers on Bluesky are higher, both because the X algorithm downranks journalism, and because Bluesky attracts readers, not just shitposters.

No matter how somebody feels about Bluesky, it's weird to act like X/Twitter has some sort of innate default claim to anybody's time or attention.

The argument spawns from stragglers who are too attached to the chaotic algo doomscroll, and valorize steeping themselves in the muck.

Don’t be fooled. This “big, beautiful bill” will raise prices on most and cut and gut programs for working low income Americans all to give the fewer wealthiest a massive tax cut.

This is wrong.

Gov. Newsom didn't request the National Guard be deployed to CA following peaceful demonstrations. Trump sent them anyway. It's the first time in 60 years a president has made that choice.

Trump's goal isn't to keep Californians safe. His goal is to cause chaos, because chaos is good for Trump.

Since the end of WWII, US scientific research has been funded in government-university partnerships, following a visionary strategic plan written by FDR's science advisor.

Whatever is happening to US research funding right now, I have not seen a thoughtful policy explanation for it. We deserve one.
