For my part, I'm interested in using quantum bits and other quantum devices to look for dark matter, and to do other interesting particle physics experiments. For me, these sources of noise are a background in an eventual DM search. Gotta understand your backgrounds!

One interesting question is whether errors or noise in qubits is *correlated*. Quantum error correction is a big deal. And the quantum error correction codes that people have developed tend to assume that errors between qubits are uncorrelated in space and time.
