Do I feed them at 5:30 until the Spring? Shall I pretend to be hard core and refuse their bewildered entreaties until 6:30? Will their tummy clocks adjust to a gradual - fifteen minutes for each of four days - shift in feeding patterns?

I do not remember reading that a benefit of the abolishment of daylight savings time would save dog owners from the existential crisis.

Another set of roadside lichen. This is Cladonia kurokawae (ヒメジョウゴゴケ), a common species. The Japanese name means “princess cup” denoting daintiness and grace, but they are incredibly robust, growing through mud and roadside garbage. Mimakihara Plateau, Nagano. #Lichen 🌿

Was out with my fisheye kit so didn't get a clean "yearbook photo" of this wasp, but it's one I haven't seen before. It is a parasitoid pincer wasp - they get their name from how they pinch hosts while laying eggs in them. Yes, nature can be tough.

🧪 Luuq, in Somalia, has one of the most spectacular geological settings of any town. Home to ~40000 people, it sits inside a meander loop of the Webi Jubba River, with only an ~100m wide ‘land bridge’ to go in/out.
