Valve’s 6x6” Steam Machine is about the same size as the box the Mac Mini comes in.

Are there any must play games for Vectrex or is mostly a curiosity?
The Vectrex Mini is very cute.

I wonder what the distribution table looks like for lego pieces as dice.

I recently bought a little CRT TV and it feels great to use. Sometimes you just need some of the original flavour.

I own this one. Camera control could work on that dial with a modifier button, but unfortunately it doesn’t play nicely with PC/Mac.

Who messed up the flower UVs on the Mario Galaxy 2 remaster?!

I’m watching a jerk on ‘game dev youtube’ say “Prototypes tell you whether you are gifted”. This is wrong.

Prototypes are one of many tools that lets you understand the potential of the game. They’re not a measure of skill. Abandon conceits like being ‘good enough’ and just do the work.

Fumito Ueda was fond of Ugo Ugo Ruga, a Japanese show from 1993 with CGI made on Amiga computers. Was this episode the inspiration for Shadow of the Colossus?!

It’s Salamander 3 day!! I still can’t believe it. My fondness started with the Commodore 64 version in 1988. The collection on Sega Saturn is fantastic too.

Shout out to any gamedevs that went to Bigjam in 2009. This place has changed.

Happy Pride Month everyone

How many years must a contributor work on a game before it is no longer a solo dev? Even the Blue Prince wiki uses the term ‘solo dev’.

I love that Mario Kart World has a playable Sidestepper Crab from OG Mario Bros, but I wish my crab could wear costumes.

Sometimes I miss the days I drew artwork in this style. This was drawn for a tutorial in a magazine. I did inks on computer, print via laser printer, and then colour with markers.

How many people that follow me even know I did artwork?

OMG Taito’s Spica Adventure is finally coming to consoles!! It was a big influence when I made Sparkle Quest in 2007, which was a minigame in ‘Thrillville: Off the Rails’.

In a plainly bad way, with broad statements about groups of people. They apparently changed the demo because of feedback.

I love how different platforms got different versions of this artwork. The mac got a gloomy goth girl.

I’m really interested in early 1980s magazines that taught programming to kids, like One Key Corner in ASCII magazine. A small number of writers made a huge impact to the games industry.

These were fun pride nails.

I often think about the UI for Fractal Design Art Dabbler, a beginner focused version of Painter bundled with Wacom tablets in 1997. It had cute wooden drawers for extra tools, and sound effects while drawing. Drawings had multiple notebook pages too. Anyone else use this?

Did we peak with Kid Pix? I'm sad I missed out on this.

Looks like some (all?) of the Switch 2 upgrades are included with the higher tier Nintendo online subscription. Smart move.
