one of many seemingly simple things i've never done on a car is drain/fill a differential. but my charger was due, and has been making a noise some research tells me is from the LSD clutches in old fluid.

turns out it was super easy to do on that car, drain and fill plugs easy to reach, quick, easy

I want a word with the engineer who placed the radiator outlets on a water cooled Vanagon.

Why is the best place to locate your hose pliers exactly where a large support beam is occupying the space?

Because of stupid computers, in apparently can’t have my Golf’s broken windshield replaced until I get Volkswagen to wave a smudging stick over it and give it a doctor’s note.

On this return trip, while I’m actually driving quite a lot to places, I’m realizing if we’d lived somewhere a bit more walkable, our two years in the UK would’ve been a lot more pleasant.

Out getting laundry done, wandered around the area, found some shops, sitting in a cafe to wait. Is nice.

Back in the UK for some work stuff, side trip to Ireland next week. Somehow don’t manage to pop over there while I lived here for two years.

It is nice remembering how everything works so I don’t have to feel constantly lost and out of place.

I spent the entirely of the daylight hours today in these three states: getting to work, being at work, and getting home from work.

if the apparent trend of decay continues, i don't think i'm going to keep playing this hop around the social media sites game. it's not really fun and i'm not really actively that social anymore anyways. and it sucks to watch the people responsible for those places turn out to also suck.

Day 2 of road trip, wake up and realize I didn’t stuff a clean t-shirt from the big bag into my backpack for the hotel stay. Okay fine whatever, nobody smelling me today but me. Check my big bag… no shirts in there either.

So, 500mi from home and no clean shirts, whoopsie!

My Charger is not a small car, by any stretch of the imagination, but it really highlights how big and swollen a lot of late-model cars have gotten when it starts to look small.

I don’t have the energy or the bandwidth to do anything real I just need the people around me to pay fucking attention to what is hurting people and stop passing the pain along. Just break the chain.

I’m a cishet dude and I can continue to be in this world but like I think people who aren’t like me should be themselves too and it makes me sad that anyone else feels differently

good job bloomberg, making me contribute directly to @gamersnexus.bsky.social because you didn't like their reporting about something you have nothing to do with, beyond recording some footage of a member of the ruling government. now i'll have to put these stickers on something. worst day ever.

sometimes, you're on the internet, and you see a fragment of something and that fragment just jams right into your brain.

"Nirvana [the band] lasted longer than the Confederacy." (as in, the Confederate States of America)

and, well. huh. it did.

Are Americans aware that down here in Mexico we’ve been getting bombarded for months with ads of Kristi Noem telling us to our face that we’re out welcome in the US, and that these ads even found their way into our national TV broadcasts

Because I feel like I have seen nobody mention it

Our new feline housemates have just let me pet them for the first time. Then apparently realizing I could pet them got VERY excited. One of them chatted at me about the universe for a full half hour and the other showed me a wonderful rolling on the floor performance.

I think I've finally learned how to color-edit the Noritsu professional scans of Phoenix so it looks almost like actual color film and not just red haze, so I guess that's something

A pair of new kitties were rehomed with us a few days ago, and are still pretty scared. But finally the one who was hiding the most and not eating showed up on camera and absolutely face planted into a plate of food and hoovered it up. Relief.

If the AI can’t function without copying and corrupting the work of other artists, then the AI should not function, and is not needed, because we already have artists.
