Quite a metaphor. 👀

"The blaze [sent] panicked delegates racing to evacuate...rain from a torrential downpour leaked into the meeting spaces...There were complaints about food shortages, & the air-conditioning struggled to keep up with the high heat..."
Fire Breaks Out at COP30 Climate Talks in Brazil

COP 30 could be the ‘People’s COP’
This year’s conference is an opportunity to be remembered not just for new pledges or targets but for rebooting the relationship between citizens and the climate regime.

It’s rare to be able to post something from Fox News but this is an interesting solar company that I’m happy to see getting some funding.

The spatial innovation claims to use less area per MWh and could be integrated with other land uses. We will see if it lives up to the hype.

Of course the opposite set of fractal patterns is strong right now. But perhaps, in the way of complex systems it is creating and energizing its opposite a wave of fierce care.

A fractal thing I am sensing: a great desire to rest, to connect, to heal, to care and be cared for is rising up. It is felt individually, but also in cities (can a city be caring?) in economic ideas (can an economy have wellbeing as it guide?) in our relations with nature (can a river have rights?)

This new article does a great job of laying out the consequences of the Trump Administration's climate policies. REMEMBER: All of those models being discussed at the COP30 negotiations do not include this accelerated trajectory.
