As of today, a new term has entered our language. A “rubio” is a spineless lump of nothing. Example: Don’t be such a rubio.

“We don’t need vaccines. We didn’t used to have them and we did fine!”

…as I was reading about a woman born prior to vaccines:

“She had 14 siblings, only seven of whom lived to adulthood..”

And this was normal.

I don’t want this to be normal again.

I immediately bought this book and think everyone should. How ridiculous to take away a book teaching young girls to love themselves as they are, claiming it is DEI material. We should not stand for this censorship.

It is absolutely wild to me that one can be anti-vaccines, but ok with all the things we can do to you in a hospital, e.g., risk going on a ventilator or ECMO or needing pressors, central lines, catheters, rectal tubes and all manner of meds and their side effect. When you could get a vaxx instead.

"The best and the worst thing about vaccination is that it 'makes nothing happen.'

A child successfully inoculated against measles doesn’t fall sick with that condition, doesn’t miss school, doesn’t go to the hospital. They don’t suffer life-changing complications. They don’t die prematurely."
A leading pediatrician was already worried about the future of vaccines. Then RFK Jr. came along
In a new book, pediatric infectious disease specialist Dr. Adam Ratner details the history of measles, a virus that’s often a bellwether for public health disasters.

🧵 When Medicine and Science Ignores Diversity, People Die.
1/ Ignoring diversity in medicine and science is deadly. From unethical experiments to life-threatening misdiagnoses, history is replete with examples of how neglecting race, gender, and identity costs lives. A thread of concrete examples.

So #2 of the Susan Collins playbook.
1. She’s undecided & needs to consider the facts
2. She has some concerns
3. She has a conversation with them and they “reassure her”
4. She votes for them
5. She realizes they lied to her after it’s too late
6. She somehow manages to get reelected
