Historically trade agreements went through Congress. But Trump's tariffs are just executive orders so the next President can undo them with the stroke to a pen.
As such, they're temporary irritants, and don't create much of an incentive for others to bend to his will.

It should be lost on no one how significant it is for a Supreme Court justice to issue these warnings. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson is telling us that our democracy is in extreme peril. It would behoove anyone who cares about this country to listen.
