Started during my post-bacc (2022), this project involved >1,000 #frogs from #NaturalHistoryCollections, 3 #pathogens, & spanned 32 states!

Elev replacement is common, but to what extent parasites mirror this pattern is less understood. To fill this gap, we studied avian parasite diversity in hyper-susceptible host species that have distinct elev ranges. doi.org/10.1101/2025...

Cool meta-analysis on parasite-mediated sexual selection, showing associations between parasite load and ornament condition. Stronger negative correlations for ornaments that can change in quality, such as behavioral displays and skin pigmentation! 🪱🧪🌍🦚 #evolution #evobio

In the meta-analyses we had to skip thousands of papers for this reason.

As an #NSF Graduate Research Fellow, federal funding made it possible for me (a #firstgen) to publish my very first paper in @peerj.bsky.social this week on frogs 🐸, their pathogens🦠, and using machine learning 💻 as exploratory tools in large-scale, wildlife disease studies.
