This week marks the 30th anniversary of me quitting smoking.
I have never been tempted to start again. Not even to chew tobacco (which was an option). After quitting I had vivid dreams about smoking. Thankfully they stopped after a year or two.
Here I am enjoying a smoke in my teen years.

OTD in 1995 I watched the Detroit Red Wings’ Sergei Fedorov score 4 Goals against Kelly Hrudey. Fedorov also missed on a Penalty Shot.
I wanted to go to the game as I had not yet watched Wayne Gretzky play in person. Wayne only had 1 assist that evening, oh well.
The game ended with a 4-4 tie.

OTD in 2020 I watched a screening of “The Man Who Laughs” at the Senate Theater in Detroit.
The man character was the inspiration for the Joker in the Batman universe.

OTD in 1982 I saw Ozzy Osbourne at Cobo in Detroit. He was touring in support of the “Diary of a Madman” album. It was 5 weeks before the accident.
Starfighter was the opening band.

Dana is digging into our complete run of The Logical Gamer, a gaming newsletter from *1982!* We believe this is the first time the entire run of Logical Gamer has been available online. It's a goldmine for people studying the pre-crash US game industry! archive.gamehistory.org/folder/982b8...
From the @gamehistoryorg.bsky.social archive, here's a bit of an interesting one - a report on the 'upcoming' Lord of the Rings game for Atari VCS. Details differ a little from the catalogue it was known from, so it wasn't just reporting from that catalogue.
