After a second replanting last weekend, the garden finally has sprouts in every row. We may be in trouble if the new greenery is from the first planting, but I'd rather thin a row than have nothing growing. #Garden2025

#Garden2025 is in! The tomatoes are worrisome. The branches are overly long and the lower leaves are huge! We've trimmed a couple but I think we need to make another pass at the lowest leaves. We transplanted them on Saturday but they're still droopy. We'll give them another day to acclimate first.

Very seriously - this is why the Canadian govt has repeatedly said they do not comment on the American administration's social media or TV comments.
They only respond to official documents sent to them.

TL;DR: The new U.S. tariff rate against our two largest trading partners is either 10%, 25% or 35%, and so far no one I've reached out to at the White House is able to tell me which.
So the White House says the 10% baseline tariff also applies to Canada & Mexico. It has not said whether that's the effective new rate itself; whether it adds to the 25% fentanyl tariff, making the new rate 35%; or whether it kicks in only if the fentanyl tariff falls away

We are now up to 14 pepper sprouts for #Garden2025. 10 jalapeño, 2 cayenne chilli, 1 Cajun Belle, & 1 Inferno. It sounds impressive until you realize that we planted 80 seeds. That's a horrible germination rate - the worst we've ever had. We have enough for our garden now but I'm very disappointed.

This second batch of pepper seed plantings is amazing. We got nine sprouts yesterday! (However, we heavily over-planted in batch 2 since batch 1 was a dud, and could now get up to 52 peppers. We only have garden room for 12 :D #Garden2025
