#MinCup24 R2M7: #Titanite versus #Calcite

Time Team

Titanite is as an indicator mineral for everything from formation temperature, pressure and chronology. Calcite’s U-Pb dating can help constrain the timing of fault slip, and the minimum age of ancient ocean crusts and volcanic rocks

Are there any good popular-science style essays about economic geology, in particular mineral resources? I'm thinking of something in the style of McPhee or Bjornerud but about hydrothermal disseminated ore bodies, or placer deposits. Thanks for any recommendations or leads.

Sometimes the little things make the biggest difference. I visited a school with a book vending machine. The principal said kids earn tokens for good grades, helping each other, and so on. They can then use a token to get a free book.

She said the kids love choosing their own books!
