Labour - “Judge us on growing the economy”.

Economic growth slowed to 0.1% over the past 3 months.

Labour - “Judge us on putting more money in peoples pockets”.

Household disposable income has fallen since the start of the year and Labour started from a very low base thanks to the Tories.

Just got beeped at by the arsehole driver behind for having the temerity to stop at a pedestrian crossing to let a pedestrian cross.

Either they hadn’t seen the pedestrian I’d stopped for and/or they’re an impatient tw4t who isn’t fit to hold a driving licence.

A brilliant breakdown of what’s being systematically stitched in to the U.K. right now (behind closed doors) and what it means for the future. Both the Tories and now Labour have chosen to prioritise & protect corporation profits with your money. They work for corporations not for you.

Good to know that bonfire night’s finally over (hopefully haven’t spoken too soon).

Any motorist occupying an ASL I automatically see as a bad driver. There are no exceptions to this. Even in the ultra rare scenario having passed the first line and stopped before the second as the lights turn red.

Most do so because they believe they can, despite it being illegal.
November 10, 2025 at 12:36 PM
People riding EAPC compliant e-bikes don’t do so wearing balaclavas.

People riding illegal electric motorbikes often do so wearing balaclavas.

The vast majority of MSM organisations and many police forces seem incapable of being able to differentiate, so instead they conflate.

Ed Davey describing Tim Davie as a “decent man doing a difficult job”. 🤦‍♂️

When in reality, he was a Tory plant who played a leading role in destroying the BBC’s reputation. The irony of his exit is off the scale.
November 10, 2025 at 11:41 AM
At this point I don’t think there’s a good time/day to cycle, it‘s all the same, you’re guaranteed several instances of bad/dangerous driving.

On today’s ride, countless close passes (1 on apex of blind corner), 2 x MGIF left hooks, 1 right hook, driver 3 point turning and nearly driving into me…
November 9, 2025 at 12:52 PM
Aside from the demonic rollout of Freeports, SEZ’s, Food Ent. Zones, AI Ent. Zones, Winter Fuel fiasco, Prison crisis, Far Right pandering, PiP, endless broken promises & scandals, etc, Labour asked to be judged on growing the economy & putting more money in people’s pockets.

Not going well is it?!

That time of the year when the Nation’s pyromaniacs traumatise the Nation’s domestic pets.

You think, well it’s just for one night. But it isn’t, it drags on for several days. The evening’s tranquility drowned out with endless bangs, serenaded by the barks of the neighbourhood’s frightened dogs.
November 5, 2025 at 6:54 PM
Just driven back home and had yet another instance, this time from a driving instructor 🤦‍♂️

They weren’t stopping, so I had to in order to leave space. As they’re passing the parked car (their side) I point to it “it’s on your side idiot” and out comes the oopsie wave. 👎

A rule in the Highway Code (163) motorists often fail to adhere to.

If a parked vehicle is on your side of the road and there’s insufficient road space for both vehicles to proceed, then you wait. If you barrel through anyway then I can only presume you got your driving licence from a cereal box.

So Parchment Party unfortunately didn’t win and the weather conditions for the race went away from what he prefers. But still beat some of the favoured horses and as I said to my sister, the achievement was not in the result itself but the experience, one that’s made history.

So very proud of her.
November 4, 2025 at 11:45 AM
Thinking about the idiots who conflate their perceptions of people being anti-car when they’re actually just anti-bad drivers.

It’s yet another example of carbrain and it’s only the motorist behind the wheel that endangers others.
November 2, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Some great news. My sister has successfully taken the first ever American bred and trained horse to run in the Melbourne Cup, which takes place early next week.

Parchment Party qualified as a result of winning the Birdstone Stakes in June.

An amazing achievement and so proud of my sister.

It was good to see Eccup reservoir looking almost full again, although no thanks to that criminal enterprise masquerading as a water company - Yorkshire Water.

As far as I’m aware there is still a hosepipe ban in place and that will remain until early next year.

One thing that never ceases to amuse me on a ride is the feebleness of the MGIF’ers.

Mate, you’ve overtaken me for absolutely no gain whatsoever (well to sit in a traffic queue for 2 seconds longer than you otherwise would have) and now I’m filtering past you with an ear to ear grin 😂

OCD and bikes, a match made in heaven. Knew something wasn’t quite right on the winter bike, just realised there was a very slight amount of play in the steerer, now eliminated.
October 29, 2025 at 11:34 AM
Some truly psychotic drivers out there today (just for a change). Think the worst was the <1m close pass immediately followed by a left hook causing me to brake again (you’ve heard it before).

But at least the winter bike got it’s maiden run out for the off-season.

After what I’ve read tonight, I can not state this strongly enough...Fuck the BBC.

You aren’t a shell of what you used to be, you sold out well and truly, trashing the reputation you once held around the world.

You actively mislead, you gaslight & you don’t deserve another second of anyone’s time.

Just had an external contractor turn up unannounced to read my meters, the 2nd time in 3 months. So that’ll be another energy supplier that doesn’t listen, this time Ovo Energy.

Unfortunately tied into a contract with them until Spring next year but will be leaving as soon as that ends.
October 23, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Can’t wait to spend 2/3 wks out in Andalusia next Spring, basically to be free from sh!t U.K. drivers.

Once again, as a cyclist or VRU more generally, you have to do the thinking on a driver’s behalf in order to stay safe or avert disaster.

Is it National Unlicensed Drivers Day today by any chance?

Can’t remember a time where I’ve felt as unsafe on the bike as I did on today’s ride. From the wilfully endangering to the dangerously oblivious.

Close passes, MGIF’s, pulling out of side roads into my path, ASL infractions galore.

@leedscitycouncil.bsky.social

Leaving cyclists no choice but to use the northbound A647 road is nothing short of being a sadistic act.

You know drivers frequently use it as drag strip (because for some reason you still haven’t installed speed cameras) and people have been killed as a result.
