This is the hope with Reform Ltd and Farage, that on a long enough timeline the mask will slip so far it will even grab the attention of the most hard of thinking, would-be Reform Ltd voters.

Lawbreaking drivers playing hell about fictional scenarios of cyclists doing nothing wrong. The self-owns are not just of criminality, but also show the complete lack of human empathy by showing more care to livestock.

Same here, highly critical but not because I want to see it finished, instead because it’s an important institution that must rediscover it’s traditional values and rebuild it’s reputation.
November 10, 2025 at 5:23 PM
That’s a whole lot of misplaced faith.
November 10, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Agreed, although a very effective way of cutting the court backlog.
November 10, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Agreed and the way they ridiculed the victim in their questioning makes me think they should be made to experience what the cyclists did through a reconstruction of the event.
November 10, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Would have to be almost completely wiped off the road surface to be acceptable, anything above that just comes down to a lack of driver awareness.
November 10, 2025 at 12:55 PM
Until there’s proper enforcement, selfish motorists will continue to use what cycle infrastructure there is as a personal parking spot.

Also a frequent problem in Leeds (including with segregated cycle lanes).
November 10, 2025 at 12:03 PM
Really crap that you have to select from really limited options. One thing I’ve actually got away from getting out on rides earlier (prob a big reason why the bad driving instances are so frequent atm).
November 9, 2025 at 5:56 PM
That’ll be 1 of the majority of motorists who haven’t read the Highway Code since passing their driving test.

Amazing how they cherry pick the bit of the rule they like and ignore the rest.
November 9, 2025 at 4:10 PM
Very much the same. I occasionally see the odd cyclist being an idiot but it’s a rarity.
November 9, 2025 at 3:08 PM
That really is quite staggering.
November 9, 2025 at 2:32 PM
It’s the noticeable difference in care and compliance. Whereas in the U.K. the majority of drivers have not read the HC since passing their test.

If I was a Transport Minister in government that would haunt TF out of me and I’d be doing everything in my power to address it.
November 9, 2025 at 2:30 PM
The argument was so pre-emptied they didn’t take a second to spot the flaw, which you correctly pointed out. Pretty much any white goods retailer will provide a delivery service so not only is it a crap argument, it’s practically obsolete as well.
November 9, 2025 at 2:09 PM
Agreed and the technology is already in place with the vast majority of forecourt retailers as steps to prosecute drive offs.
November 9, 2025 at 1:55 PM
Would make such a positive difference to road safety, more so than any other single measure I can think of. Especially as KSI’s have plateaued and are in fact on the rise again. There’s just far too many motorists on the road who don’t come close to meeting the minimum standards required to drive.
November 9, 2025 at 1:40 PM
💯

His comments are way off the mark on many levels. Whether it’s the hierarchy of responsibility in the HC or just in practice for self preservation purposes.

As you’ve said, a cyclist can follow every ride and do everything right and it still might not be enough to keep you safe.
November 9, 2025 at 1:27 PM
Agreed, it’s swamped by the abundance of authoritarian, anti-democratic, right wing pandering, genocide compliance and downright immoral policy choices.

And that’s with the public being kept in the dark on Labour’s rollout of Freeports, SEZ’s and AI growth zones.
November 9, 2025 at 1:21 PM
Same and that’s taking into account the stereotypical Sunday drivers. Can’t fathom why people are in such a rush & all too happy to endanger other road users on a Sunday.

The sheer amount of MGIF‘s that I either filtered past or overtook shortly after was ridiculous.

Fully agreed on the eye test.
November 9, 2025 at 1:15 PM

Without sounding like a broken record, it’s every ride and it’s unacceptable.

My trip to Andalusia can’t arrive soon enough. It will again show the vast chasm of difference in driving standards between Spanish and UK motorists.
