I am just catching up to this, but was the VP really arrogant or stupid enough to think he could correct the freaking POPE on Catholic Theology?

Yes, I know, what about both?

Trying to be on a video call while owning a cat might as well just be asking somebody how much they enjoy looking at a cat's butt because they'll be doing it for the next hour whether we agree to it or not.

I am hardly surprised that a man who has cheated at life also cheats at video games.

Isn’t it terribly on script to blame the shrinkage of the inaugural on the cold?

Jayden has more games in his career where his team has no punts and no turnovers than Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Peyton Manning and Patrick Mahomes COMBINED.

Holy crap.

I can't follow the math, so I have not read the original article, but this is fascinating.

Physicist claims to have solved the infamous 'grandfather paradox,' making time travel (theoretically) possible
The grandfather paradox is just one of the thorny logical problems that arise with the concept of time travel. But one physicist says he has resolved them.

On the left, my image. On the right, the Al image that was clearly trained on, and designed to plagiarize, my image.

All Al generated imagery is inherently theft. It's unethical, environmentally disastrous, and does irreparable harm to both artists and society.

Yeeeeeaaah, the doomerism thing is real bullshit. As a nation we were collectively stupid enough to let him get back into a seat of power, but it's now our responsibility to collectively put as many goddamn tacks onto that seat as we possibly can. Make Power Fucking Painful is the mantra for 2025.
a lot of you seem to basically believe that politics is over, history has ended and the absence of legal or electoral consequences for trump means that he is the only person with agency. you all are recapitulating the basic conceit of trump’s alleged invincibility, but from the center left

Really the problem is the government workers are too few: The government is not allowed to pay competitive salaries in many cases, so instead the employees are hired by contractors who can pay and, because the contractor gets their cut, grossly increases the cost over just hiring people directly.
The usual suspects are out there yelling "There are 23 million government workers! Fire most of them!" No awareness that most work for local governments, and most of *them* are schoolteachers. Federal employment hasn't grown since the 1950s
