Well, THAT’S hopeful! In a security survey of Ukrainian opinion, only 31.1% of Ukrainians want nuclear weapons to defend themselves with!

When I hear that russia's concession in this peace process is their promise not to attack further, while in return, Ukraine shall give up lands, ppl, alliances etc, I'd laugh at the striking naivety (?) if it wasn't so tragic.

86,7% of Ukrainians know russia will attack again after a short break.

Frontline report: Russia couldn't fix its nuclear submarine, so it's leasing it to India for $2 billion - Euromaidan Press

We're also building new nuclear weapons, so everything is going great

Bad news for nuclear disarmament. Citizens of Finland are more willing to accept nuclear weapons on their territory then they were a year ago.
Finnish attitudes towards #nuclear weapons. There's a marked change in the willingness to accept nuclear weapons on Finnish soil from April 2024 to March 2025.

And 36% already agree or completely agree with a common #Nordic nuclear deterrent project.

I suspect percentages are going to increase.

For some reason, Ukraine now regrets signing this agreement and feels that they would have been better off keeping the Soviet nukes. Probably because the agreement fell apart in 2014, when Russia invaded Ukraine.
On Dec. 5, 1994, Ukraine signed a set of political agreements that would guarantee the country's sovereignty and independence in return for accession to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT).
Why Ukraine doesn't have nuclear weapons
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine found itself the inheritor of the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal.

This sounds like a pretty bad idea, adding a new nuclear power to the region for the sake of making a few more bucks. North Korea's already nuclear-armed as it is.
Seeking a “big profit” Trump wants to give South Korea, our ally, the ability to make nuclear weapons. Bad idea. This could lead to an arms race between the South, North Korea and China. We need fewer nuclear states, not more.
