I love independent media and journalists with long memories, especially when they call out NewsCorpse!

Crikey, on how we came to be trailing China in rare earths, and manufacturing in Australia.

The No Kings news over the last few days has loaded the depression index toward optimism for the first time in a long time.

This good news from Australia might just tip the balance!

It's so hard to see and understand 'resilience' and 'genocide' in the same sentence in this research article title.

And these researchers are heroes.

His life soundtrack was ‘Zippety Do Da’.

David Rowe is so much more accurate than the Murdoch media with its obsession with Albo’s ‘embarrassment’ 🤣

Academics don't live in the real world, eh?

Professor Robert McCreight from the University of Pennsylvania wrote this in 2023.

He also wrote that emergency management plans are based on the past, exercises have to test the future.

JFC - when are ABC reporters going to understand a) that this is normal disaster prep and NOT panic buying and b) that this is what just-in-time logistics looks like when it hasn’t factored in natural hazards.

They accuse a very sensible
community of ‘panic’ every time they open their mouths!

The Natural Hazards Centre in Boulder, Colorado is one of the key disaster research centres in the US and the home of many of the greats in disaster research. It just paused a call for applications for mitigation-focused research 😔

This aged well from Exploding Topics (in a very nice way) - didn't we get to 30 million just the other day? Nearly two months earlier than expected:

Need for Feed is a Lions Club project, delivering hay, dog food, care packs and Christmas presents to drought affected communities.

This convoy of about 15 trucks just went through Tocumwal on its way to South Australia.

The truckies donate time and their trucks.

Here is Greg’s story - quite an achievement in a Murdoch-owned country paper. The RBA should watch out.

My local member - in what was until the last election Australia's second safest seat - has this voting record.

It shows that he really does not have what's good for Australia at heart.

He was parachuted into a university town and yet check the 10th item on the list!
