Once again EXCELLENT. They’ve tried out some new things and it’s even better than the previews. #insideno9 #stage/fright

Warmer planet = weaker polar jet stream = more intense temp fluctuations = more ice and snow storms pushing further south.

NORMAN HEATLEY developed the back-extraction technique for efficiently purifying penicillin in bulk. After the patent Heatley and the Oxford team had to pay to use the techniques they initially developed.

This is Andrew J Moyer who is a snake. A small Oxford team were the first to develop purified penicillin for medicinal use. They had a contract with Moyer to develop new ways to increase yield. Moyer went behind the oxford team's back, claimed all the credit and PATENTED pencillin production.

The 2004 Tsunami helped change disaster management for the better. Tsunami early warning systems have been dramatically improved (not everywhere though). Not every country has the funds to maintain expensive tsunami sensors. Also, most sensors do not detect tsunamis caused by volcanoes or landslides

A few years ago I discovered this artwork that I painted as a 5 year old just days after the disaster in school. Clearly I had seen the news coverage and it impacted me greatly.

The boxing day tsunami media coverage as well as "The Impossible" film focus intensley on white tourist perspectives of the disaster. The stories of hundreds of thousands of victims from Sri Lanka, Thailand, Indonesia have recieved little coverage over the past 20 years.

Twenty years ago today was the Boxing Day Tsunami. This was the deadliest tsunami in recorded history killing over 200,000 people."The Impossible" (2012) retells a real Spanish family's experience starring Ewan Mcgregor and a young Tom Holland. A good watch to understand how terrifying it was.

Four books for Christmas. I only got three but amazingly my mum already had an original signed copy of "shattered city" in the basement???

Why has no one told me Boris Karloff narrated the 1966 “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”???

My dad has old medical textbooks from 1944. This is the entry describing period cramps.

This was used by my grandfather to study as a medical student. He practiced as a GP until the 1990s…

German authorities now claiming the lack of bollards at one entrance of the #Magdeburg christmas market was an emergency services route. This is absolutely ridiculous I've worked numerous large events, every single one emergency services vehicles ALWAYS wait outside the barriers and crews go in.

There is NO point in paying for and installing bollards if they don't protect 360 degrees. #Magdeburg

This was EXCELLENT. Genuinely not what I was expecting. Goes a bit deeper.

I adore going through Whitechapel station. The high street restaurants back onto the station tracks so it ALWAYS smells like the most amazing food. Also the anime / ghibli boards always remind me that the world isn’t always terrible.

I love how most documentaries about disasters will have the most badass names, most intense V/O presenters, and will make it out to be the most masculine hardcore thing ever then cut to the cutest little nerdy disaster scientists.

When choosing outfits I have special rules.

Baggy top and baggy trousers = Bad
Tight top and tight trouser = Bad

Tight top and baggy trouser = Good
Baggy top and tight trousers = Good

You get me?

I have been keeping an eye on the incident at Gatwick. I'm noticing in particular that the care and movement of thousands of stranded people seems to be one of the biggest issues.

I've been thinking about
- Is neighbouring Horley prepared for a sudden influx of people?
