Disabled lefty shouting into the void.
I'm increasingly suspicious of ground news's bias reporting. Even if you take their laughable suggestion that GB news, the telegraph, & the spectator are center right outlets - it describes this story as having an 11% left wing bias which is just objectively wrong by their own metrics.

Yeah. I got my husky (Tundra) 13 years ago before vet bills got this high and when I thought I'd have a normal life and job before I got MS 😅

She's basically uninsurable now. She does very well for her age. Turns out she had vestibular disease which is like vertigo for dogs. She's doing well now.

The number of Labour MPs opposing the #PIP #WelfareCuts has increased to 7! (but 8 have unclear statements and 5 are supporting it 🥀🚮)

I've updated my logging system to a spreadsheet and it's allowed me to make a handy pie chart 🤓

Please keep demanding support from your MPs ♿✊

In a positive distraction from the current state of the news - nearly all the plants I've sown have started germinating! 🌱

Only waiting on 1 variety of tomato, 1 variety of chilli, and my ginger to shoot.

So far I've got 6 varieties of tomato, 1 chilli, rocket, spinach, and Brussels sprouts.

Reposting this guardian cartoon from @bjennings90.bsky.social with alt text because it's such a good metaphor for the #PIP #WelfareCuts to not share with the #Disability community.

This official disability labour page on Facebook regularly has posts denouncing Starmer and his government. This is the latest example. It's very much in open rebellion at this point. Labour hasn't done anything to police it because they don't monitor. They don't care what disabled people think!

Less than 1,000 votes you say?

If you use the 21.5% of people who consider themselves disabled figure from the 2021 census and combine it with the 2023 electorate estimate for this seat (70k) there are 15,000 disabled voters!

Labour only got 22k votes last election. Send a message about PIP ♿✊

21.5% of residents in Runcorn & Helsby consider themselves to be disabled under the equalities act compared to the national average of 17.3% (2021 census data).

The timing of this with the new welfare reforms being announced could be interesting. Don't let them take your vote for granted! ♿✊

I knew things weren't great when the radiologist said "what took you so long to get it looked at?"

For a few years I thought I had costochondritis and it was only when I could feel a lump that I thought I should see a doctor. Then they found this bastard on the inside of my chest wall 😬😅

Decided to put all my welfare/healthcare paperwork in one place with organisational pockets ready for when the PIP review paperwork arrives.

... I think I'm going to need a bigger box! 😅

Side note - clearing out all the old DWP brown envelopes feels good! Might burn them as therapy 😅😂

You'd want to put some sacrificial bits of wood either side so you don't mark your walls and make sure it's tight and feels secure to you before you pull against it (would hate to see it come off and injure you 😬). Here's an example:

Saw wicked. My main criticism is that even in a fantasy land they won't let us have #LevelBoarding 💀😅

In the UK these cupboards for bins are becoming more popular. A lot of houses here don't have access to the side of the property for moving the bins around so they have to stay out the front. They usually get painted to match the trim of the house.
