This is the first time since I enlisted in the Marines in 1997 that I would actively discourage any young person to enlist or commission, especially if you’re a BIPOC or a woman.

I’m going to Puerto Rico next week. Thank you so much for making your book. I love learning about places from people who are from a place and have been there as well.

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent.

Opportunities are everywhere.

Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

This is a slap in the face to American women.

Pete Hegseth has a track record of disrespecting women service members, and multiple credible sexual assault allegations.

Our troops deserve better.

Something that brought me joy today: my cooking lives on TikTok, I started last month as practice for cooking demos and it’s tuned into a fun interaction with so many lovely people who tune in. Today I made stuffed yellow ripe plantains 🇵🇷

I want to start sharing more of the things that bring me the most joy (aside from my family): food & travel. Here are some of my favorite shots of my book,Dining Traveler Guide to Puerto Rico. In the theme of “Debí Tomar Más Fotos”, I’m grateful I have a library of over 10k images of my Puerto Rico

As a Marine veteran & someone who loves USA, it’s such a sad day for me. I know it’s easier to be apathetic but it hurts so see the direction in which our country is going: elimination of climate programs, education, federal government (which historically has one of the most diverse workforce).

Forgot to change my location so o can’t open my TikTok, not even in Belgium 😩 I didn’t use TikTok for “work” —it was my fun outlet. I’m going to miss it!

It’s amazing to me that politicians don’t commit to post first on @bsky.app and to engage with constituents here

THIS is more powerful than CNN , MSNBC, The Post will ever be.

You can broadcast for 9 mins on a declining medium, or engage here and start a real discussion.

Which is more powerful?

Thinking of this whole hypermasculinity talk and thinking about some of the most masculine men I know—my dad, husband, some of my Marine bffs are/were big dudes who literally go through life unbothered, mind their own business, without the need to demean/sabotage others.

What is your plan to wean yourself from IG/Facebook. I deleted my X account and as a freelance writer and publisher I depend on these outlets to find work and support the content I publish on my website. TikTok (where I’m finally cultivating a community) is probably going to be done in USA.
