Lamproderma sp. slime mold. Northwest Territories, Canada, a few summers ago. This slime mold is part way through the fruiting process. A day later this had become multicoloured and iridescent. #slimemould #myxo #fungifriends

When I lived in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, my favourite time of year for lichen looking was late winter. Ice roads would give me access to many miles of exposed lakeside rocky outcrops. Below are 3 species of Rhizoplaca that were common on these outcrops. #lichens #arctic #fungifriends.
