Dear @nytimes.com, one of the largest peaceful protests in this country's history, and it winds up on page 22 in the Sunday paper? Gave you the benefit of the doubt yesterday, figured maybe you'd cover it today, but no. What's going on there? What kind of reporting is this?

Not to state the obvious, but none of them were sent to a terrorist prison in El Salvador. They all had lawyers, indictment by grand jury, a trial or a guilty plea where a judge ensured it was knowing & voluntary & access to an appeals process. In other words, all the hallmarks of due process.

Let’s get something clear. The GOP has the power to keep the government from shutting down in March. They control both chambers of Congress and the White House. If they can’t reach a budget deal within their own ranks, that completely on them.
