Interests and education in Science/engineering/economics fields, but mostly post about politics at the moment. Not revealing personal details. Salmon looks cool and I like cooking it, thus the name and picture.
I'd heard all those "Technically, its ephebophilia" jokes but.....damn. Kelly, Dershowitz,....

He's not wrong, technically. :)

Mamdani doesn't fit the mold exactly either but did have a big publicity operation, Wilson and Fateh didn't fit the mold either from what I saw and got less attention. Gabbard and Khanna were big for this group for much of the Trump decade, likely because if all the iffiness in their background.

Sanders/Warren is the ultimate analogy for lots of things it seems. These media types want a mix of "promises socialism, plus lots of problematic stuff, competence is cringe/uncool, presents as White Working Class is a bonus". Guys like Platner present that way, guys like Syed not as much.

This is a thread about a new charity endeavor I’ve heard many good things about that allows you to send food and supplies directly to families in Gaza- I want to try it out before I recommend it and Obada offered to see if it works! Instructions on how to do it are in the thread
Alright Obada offered to be my test case to see if this service works! gazagivingcart.org

Basically you can order food and supplies directly through them and specify Obada Salqawe as who you want it to go to and they will work to get it to him!

My baby struggles to breathe without a nebulizer.💔
It costs $300, but after the war, we’ve lost everything.
Each breath feels like a battle for my child and it breaks me to watch.
Please, help me give them the chance to breathe again. 🙏

Crowley losing in 2018 might have done this, but D's just went harder against progs instead. So probably takes a lot of replacements.

Can fix that.

""so curious that Molly Shah never posts anything that indicates that she enjoys or is even aware of.....movies....."

*Few Hours Later*

"Edge of Tomorrow is such a great movie" Molly shah post: "I didn't watch that one, but (other movie) is fascinating)"

Is he implying Elizabeth Warren is a Muslim as well, or is this supposed to be bad for a separate reason?

Anyway, he's correct in implying that Muslim cardiologists are bad. Who knows, Khan might also hire some Muslim economists, public health people, accountants, or*shiver* secretaries. Horror /s

His poll analysis/aggregation is still pretty good, and his obvious nuttiness didn't start until COVID. Clear mix of "copying his social group", and "COVID staying at home something or other" and these two probably cross over quite a bit.

They were absolutely correct to use these slogans. Look at behavior since the protests, or when Trump showed up.

Complaining about the slogans is just a way to feel like you've scored points against activists, while pretending to still care about the issues in question.

themselves". Too many seemed to get excited about "Working class vibes and big tall guy". and forgot that he did support Fracking and leaned pro-Israel. So mixed on the prog/moderate spectrum.

And supporting lamb is a bad idea. Kenyatta, other PA people are available.

Likely that if, Yuh-line Niou, Jessica Cisneros, Nida Allam, etc. got voted in, Stroke man is seen as a "dud, but that sort of thing happens sometimes" and you move on to the next person.

Of course, Fetterman is also an example of "judger a candidate by their record, not how they present
November 10, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Fetterman was a weird one, Kenyatta was running as the more full on prog, but Fetterman was the immediately more popular/recognized person so got lots of support (and all of them may have issues I don't know about). Plus it was the year of AIPAC, so Fetterman stood out as a rare success story.
November 10, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Lamb very much ran a "left is icky" campaign. Kenyatta was the guy, or for future elections look for other options.
November 10, 2025 at 1:55 PM
Black voters have gone for people like Eric Adams pretty often, they as a whole aren't;t better at judging people then anyone else. You can look at a candidate's actual record/history, who they associate with, etc. and get a solid read of how they'll behave.
November 10, 2025 at 1:52 PM
It means you don't vote for appearance/presentation, you vote on previous record and what candidates say they will do, plus look at who else is supporting them. Sinema had voted as a blue dog pretty often as a representative, and was the Schumer choice compared to some others.
November 10, 2025 at 1:49 PM
Black voters went pretty strongly for Fetterman, and lots of officials too.
