If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

@strictscrutiny.bsky.social A woman who has been going to the same gym as I do for years, and who has barely ever glanced in my direction, interrupted my trainer this week to point at my Struct Scrutiny Dissent shirt and give me a thumbs up. I think we’re best friends now.

Communist China anyone?
This will directly and negatively impact the life of every American. They just don’t know it yet.
SCOOP: Now that Linda McMahon is confirmed/sworn in as secretary, Trump will be imminently issuing an executive order eliminating the Department of Education.

I’ve obtained a draft of an email that McMahon will be sending to staff re: the EO and the department’s “final mission”.

Here is a portion:

Keep this in mind as House Republicans vote for a budget framework that would gut Medicaid (relied on by 72 million) and food stamp programs (relied on by 42 million people).

Things I’m doubling down on:
1. Picking up more Medicaid cases and providing them with long term plans that they can implement even if/when they lose coverage.
2. Investigating what I need to line up to provide pro bono care.

Heading out for a much needed vacation after turning myself inside out for the past several months on behalf of everyone else, stressing about all of this and also the coldest Jan in years. Really hoping I can remember how to self-care and relax. Feels so foreign.

Do not F with Newark.
one reason democrats should cut the “we just want to work together” shit is that you lose the opportunity to do things like, for instance, hold a loud press conference on the fact that trumps ICE thugs arrested a veteran www.newarknj.gov/news/mayor-r...

Ok, #Canada here’s a way you can help us out. Since the US has had #NIH and other health information blocked, who should we follow for info on #birdflu and other public health issues. Hoping that alarms from neighbors will help us a little??

Well this is…not good. I will make a mega post tomorrow with all the latest virus data but that will be the last one for a while. This is just dumb - no reason to cut off access to data while they are conducting the “review”
