Unleashing the power of the market by having some bureaucrat decide what is a proper job appropriate for graduates and deporting anyone who disagrees. I love having the worst aspects of state planning combined with the heartlessness of a market economy, it's very good and bodes well for my country.
Other reforms expected include restrictions that will force foreign graduates to leave the UK unless they get a graduate level job, which will be based on skill levels rather than salary.

Not enough people here, and some time wasting, but cool to see at least something happening.

There are protests planned down the street so maybe it'll grow throughout the day.

"Why aren't young people protesting?"

Consider—because they all got their shit rocked by police and prosecutors last year trying to stop a genocide, and you abandoned them.

Anything more than quite minor differences in compensation are deeply and irretrievably unjust. Pay should not be a determining factor on whether a job is a good fit for my skills and capabilities and values.

Ok, but real talk? The sort of low-engagement persuadable Trump voter you need to flip is not going to sit through a serious policy argument, and would not understand it if they did. “He’s calling himself a king” they can understand. So run with it.
Dear media:

Please do not waste time hyperventilating about this dumb comment.

It’s intended to be a distraction from all of the damaging actions he’s taking.

Focus on those.

Absolutely drives me mad: organizations with an acronym name that don't have a really obvious decoding of the acronym on their website. Should be front and center.

It was about “forcing America to face all its interrelated flaws—racism, poverty, militarism and materialism” and “exposing the evils rooted deeply in the whole structure of our society.” @keeanga.bsky.social

It's mystifying and alienating to talk to people who are blissfully unaware that we are on the cusp of the end of democracy and they're still living and talking like it's 2006.

Drumpf: I will punish my enemies and dismantle democracy. You won't have to vote anymore and the enemy within will be swiftly dealt with.
Normal people: Um that's really very concerning

Weave News looks cool. Hadn't heard of them.

In this article, Luengo discusses how a second Trump administration could lead to disastrous decisions, including increased militarization, in Europe.

California requires Ethnic Studies courses, there aren't enough Ethnic Studies phds. There aren't enough people of color eligible for these jobs. This will likely result in white guys like me becoming ethnic studies profs to meet the demand. Discuss.
