It seems like a fitting time to remind everyone that luddites didn’t hate technology. They hated that their jobs were being replaced by tech that produced a poorer version of things they were making. If AI is going to take jobs it needs to AT LEAST do a better job than the people it’s replacing.

Long time coming. The House of Representatives passed an amendment to an annual defense bill one year ago that would have outlawed this. The Senate did not. When the bills were merged in a backroom deal, the amendment vanished. This happened while Schumer led the Senate, but after Trump won.

Nazi Germany surrendered in May 1945. For Americans, the Second World War would rage for three more months, until VJ Day in August. But for Russians and those influenced by them, "Victory Day" falls in May. Trump follows the Russian practice, not the American.

All Biden Admin executive actions to help working people that were blocked by Trump-appointed judges.

And Republicans didn't have a problem with any of it.

After President Trump hit Colombia with tariffs, President Gustavo Petro said his government will "raise import tariffs from the U.S. by 25%"
Columbia hits back at Trump by moving to impose retaliatory tariffs on U.S. products
