Nuts are such nutrient-dense snacks—rich in healthy fats, protein, and minerals. I love how each type offers unique benefits, like omega-3s in walnuts or vitamin E in almonds. A small handful can meaningfully support heart and metabolic health. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

This semester showed me how nutrition connects to behavior and long-term health. As a future health professional, I want to support patients with empathy and realistic guidance, helping them build sustainable habits that fit their lives and truly improve their well-being. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I really relate to this. When I'm laughing and eating with others, it's so easy to keep piling food on. “Slow down, taste your food, and stop at comfortable” is simple advice but the hardest to follow. I definitely overate again in this Thanksgiving…🥲
#beh353 @beh353.bsky.social
Thanksgiving foods are not the issue. How fast you eat and how much you keep piling on the plate matter more. Slow down, taste your food, and stop at comfortable instead of stuffed. Enjoy the day without overthinking it. #RealWorldNutrition

In Korea, we don't have Thanksgiving, but we celebrate Chuseok, a holiday where families gather and enjoy traditional foods like galbi jjim. This year for Thanksgiving, my friends and I made galbi jjim and japchae together—it felt like a warm taste of home.

This rich, delicious dish is great for special occasions like birthdays, Christmas, Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving), or Seollal (New Year's Day), but you can have it any time you want something amazing....

This post was a great reminder that SNAP isn’t about “bad choices”. It’s about barriers like income, transportation, and food access. People can’t choose what they can’t reach or afford. The issue is the system, not the individuals. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

I chose this article because it clearly explains what kids need nutritionally at each age—like whole grains, fruits, veggies, and limiting added sugars. It’s simple, evidence-based, and easy for parents to apply right away, making it a great tool for future clients. #beh353 @beh353.bsky.social

This post made me rethink how we view animals. I knew they could feel pain, but I never thought deeply about how consistently they show a will to live and deserve protection. Seeing animals as someones, not somethings is such an important shift.

Tom’s story changed how I think about behavior change. The one thing that stood out was how one sustainable habit—the same salad every day—transformed his health after years of weight cycling. For future client, I’ll help them to find habits they can truly maintain.

There’s so much misinformation online about seed oils being “toxic,” but science shows that oils like soybean and canola actually support heart health. It’s a good reminder to check the facts and trust credible nutrition sources rather than social media trends.

I lost 20kg, so this topic really hits home. When I was overweight, fat shaming was part of my daily life and pushed me to lose weight obsessively. It hurt both my body and mind. This week reminded me that true health starts with respect and understanding, not judgment.

I love this recipe! It’s healthy, simple, and perfect for busy days when there’s not much time to cook. The vegan chickpea salad can be made quickly and enjoyed in so many ways — as a wrap, spread, or on its own. A great reminder that healthy eating can be easy!

Great on its own, as a filling in a wrap or pureed into a tasty spread for sandwiches or toast, this #vegan chickpea salad #recipe comes together quickly. Let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours for the best flavor. #vegan #chickpea #eatright #WorldVeganDay www.eatright.org/food/plannin...

One barrier I relate to is the lack of time for healthy meals. As a college student juggling classes and assignments, I spend most of my day on campus and often end up eating fast food. Even at home, I’m too tired to cook, so I usually eat ramen or frozen meals instead.

I want to share an NIEHS article about folate’s protective effects extending beyond pregnancy. It explained that higher folate levels may help reduce PFAS accumulation, showing how this vitamin supports not only fetal health but also environmental resilience.

Folate’s protective effects may now extend to PFAS
New studies show folate may reduce PFAS accumulation in the body, which may protect against adverse birth outcomes and boost immune health.

This post is impressive! There are so many myths about GMOs, especially fears about gut health and long-term safety. I found it valuable that this study used primates over 7 years and still showed no harmful effects. A good reminder to trust solid evidence! 🧬🥼🧪

I completely agree with this post! As we discussed earlier in the semester, balance is key in nutrition, and it doesn’t happen overnight. Like she said, it’s a lifelong process, and there’s no single right answer. It’s important to find the balance that works for you.

There is no “one right way” to eat. Healthy eating is not about being perfect for a day or a few months. Your lifestyle will always be a work in progress. Consequently, making dietary changes is something you commit to for the rest of your life.

I researched the ketogenic diet. It may support short-term weight loss and blood sugar control, but I also read concerns about raising LDL cholesterol and kidney risks. I'm wondering what impact keto has on heart health, and whether it is safe to follow long-term.

Do you all like fruit? I was searching posts about fruits and found this helpful post, so I wanted to share! Avocado is my favorite—it tastes great and is super healthy. I didn’t know much about blackberries before, but now I definitely want to try them more.

I usually eat sweet yogurts, such as Yoplait or Chobani, for breakfast. To make it more nutrient-dense, I can switch to Greek yogurt (low sugar) and add allulose, berries, and granola, which gives more protein, less added sugar, plus antioxidants!😊😊

I want to share this one! I didn’t realize that ‘whole grain’ on a label doesn’t always mean 100%. From now on, I’ll be paying closer attention to labels when choosing whole grain and other products!

I recorded everything I ate on Friday. It wasn't that easy, especially noting the sauces in the poke bowl. So, I can’t say my record was perfect. One thing I realized was how much I love snacks. I was constantly eating something. I think I need to start limiting them.

This is so interesting! I always thought fats were bad, but I've learned that the type of fat matters much more. I really love cheese, but dieting made me give it up...😭 Now I’m thinking it’s time to look for healthier cheeses instead!

Through lectures, I learned why consuming carbohydrates is crucial even while dieting. Our brains rely almost entirely on carbohydrates for energy; a lack of them can lead to fatigue, headaches, and irritability, probably explaining why I often felt so on edge😂

Her post made me reflect on myself. I’ve tried many diets, always stressing over “don’t eat” lists. That pressure sometimes led to binge eating. Ironically, I lost weight best when I ate balanced meals without fear—maybe we really do need to calm down about nutrition. @beh353.bsky.social #beh353
We talk about what to eat, but less about how we think about it. The stress, judgement & fear around food choices aren’t just exhausting—they make eating decisions harder. We don't think as clearly. We default to habits & jump to conclusions... That’s probably not helping anyone eat better.
