There is power loss getting oil and gas out of the ground and to the generating station or the petrol station!
There is power loss in cleaning up after the pollution of fossil fuels, from AGW events, to health, to eco system damage.

So not really sure what your point?

Certainly one of the forms of action that Labour used to get its foothold in the Democratic FPTP systems of the early 20th century, something that the Greens are emulating to some extent
