Just got off the phone with WA state human rights commission. They said even if you're not sure, go ahead and file the complaint.

So, anyone who had a book or game taken down that lives in Washington? I guess we have a next step.
If true, this is illegal in, at least, Washington state. Contact info to file a complaint here: wahum.my.site.com/FileaComplai...

Look up your state, and if it prohibits discrimination on basis of sexual orientation or gender expression, many do, call you AG's office.

Per SCAR Spokane, there are about 80-100 protesters at the ICE office downtown at 411 W Cataldo. There is a nonzero chance that this young man could be allowed to go home if this continues.

Please get downtown if you can.

Organizers are refreshing protestors on the best practices for the event, giving info for folks who are willing to risk arrest and for those who are not. They’re reminding everyone to stay peaceful. There’s a bail fund phone number, will see if I can get that number for anyone who wants to donate

I'm just gonna say that Myst is probably the Spokane areas greatest contribution to human culture.
The creators of Myst series (@cyan.com) saved hundreds of video tapes from the making of their iconic adventure game franchose.

We helped preserve them. Here's what we found.

SCOOP: DOGE notified the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences (IMLS) today that the entire staff is being put on administrative leave effective immediately, I’ve learned from an agency source.

They’ll be cancelling huge swaths of grants/contracts and starting a Reduction in Force (RIF).

The media can (and should) reject the Right's deceptive frame. This is not about "references to diversity, equity, and inclusion."

It is a neosegregationist attempt to erase everyone but white males from the nation's history.
Arlington National Cemetery has scrubbed information about prominent Black, Hispanic and female service members and topics such as the Civil War from its website, part of an effort across the Defense Department to remove all references to diversity, equity and inclusion from its online presence.
Arlington Cemetery website scrubs links about Black and female veterans
Pentagon leaders have ordered that their websites and social media pages remove articles and images that “promote” DEI.

VERY IMPORTANT: This is just a trick. It's a way for Democratic senator to say they oppose the bill while letting it pass. It's not much of a trick. I mean, everyone will see it. But still this is simply a way of hoodwinking constituents. If they want to vote for it just vote for it.
One more thing: Punchbowl reports that some Democratic senators are considering allowing the CR to proceed to a floor vote, lowering the threshold from 60 to 51 votes. Any such vote is the same as a vote for the CR but with even less integrity. Please encourage your colleagues to be better than this

"I'll vote to allow the executive branch to dismantle the government"
The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics.

Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession.

I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

We're not done hearing about cuts to NARA. But here's why we won't see this kind of story about each presidential library:

The governing and operating structures for the 13 (yes, 13, despite what others claim) federal presidential library-museums are a mix of "public-private partnerships." 🧵
UPDATE: The JFK Library will reopen tomorrow, February 19.

Good news. But this obviously isn't over.

It honestly reads like whoever was wrote this or fed the prompt if they had an AI do it just started pointing at people in the room shouting "quick name a black person I can add to this list! Frederick Douglas? Perfect. Tiger Woods? Sure whatever he's on it!"

With the news about the Air Force being a bunch of cowards now is probably a good a time to find out if there were any Tuskegee Airmen from your hometown and see if anyone has written anything about them. And spread their stories or write them.
