I mostly look at this for lists (of people that I want to block ha!) but there’s other cool things here too.

A cup of English Breakfast tea is steeping as I ponder my future, and whether I keep using Bluesky as intensely as I have done in the last couple of days.

Ohh, more of the The Gulp. I loved the first two books because I have a passing familiarity with rural Australia.

You should try them.

Like ... Night Vale, if it was Aussie.
THE RISE: Tales From The Gulp 3 is coming in February 2026, so it's a great time to catch up on vol 1 and 2.

Signed paperbacks of THE GULP and THE FALL, sent anywhere in Australia, only $50 shipping inc.

Only in Aus, I'm afraid. And please do spread the word.

More deliberate media consumption day two, not letting the algorithm deliver stuff to my eyeballs

I'm reading a bunch of articles that I'd saved in Raindrop.io (and transferred to Instapaper) on my Kobo.

$1.20 for a 60g pack of unsalted crisps is ok, right?

On the way home I did the same, and got a little way into a book before deciding that I wasn't in the mood for it right now.

Last night, I took all the extraneous apps off my phone.

This morning, I wore my earplugs instead of earphones. I read a book instead of scrolling social media while listening to podcasts.

By the time I got to school, I finished the book I was reading.

I think it's just called Good Guys. I finished it, and can confirm that it is a Good Book.
Returning to Steven Brust’s The Good Guys. It’s unusual. The story’s told mostly through dialogue.

Has anyone else read it? images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/S/com...

In my head it’s easier to pay for a content/streaming subscription than to pay for access to software functionality (e.g. I’d rather pay for Netflix than Microsoft Office).

I don’t know why that is.

Trying out craft.do - hoping to get more from the interlinking and organisational features than from the ability to change the colour of the text.

Also, looks a bit easier than Notion.

If Funko goes down, Forbidden Planet goes down btw
Funko admits “substantial doubt” it can continue as a going concern amid crashing sales and mounting debt.

The Pop! maker warns of potential loan defaults without fresh funding or a buyout, after a 14% sales drop and $250M in obligations.

Out in the park reading and once again I have become “uncle can you open our waters for us” for the gang of kid cyclists who stopped to get bottles of water at the shop.

Of course I opened the water bottles.
