That's pretty much it, and I agree with the sentiment, but we don't need that new wave to be this hippie boring green bland shit

And then there's the yogurt add thing. It hasn't even been stablished yet and it is already getting coopted

Solarpunk, on the other hand was created in a blogpost as a name first, without a defined body of work to be named. Then some authors tried to fill the category with their work, without even having a clear definition of the concept or an actual common sentiment.

As of now, aesthetics is all it has

I thing this is a consequence of it being completely artificial as a genre. Most genres are born organically, out of a common sentiment by different authors, and they are named after several genre defining works have stablished them as something different. +

-a few superficial aesthetic similarities.

The only semi-defined characteristic of solarpunk are it's aesthetics, and those are pretty much the most clichéd and boring envision of a utopia I could imagine.

It is leftist, ecoligical and optimistic great stuff, sure, but too vague to be a genre

I absolutely love this, you've achieved a perfect balance between mass effect like stylization and realism

I really like this one and what it means within its context. The game does a really good job at making any memory from act 1 feel like an echo from a past lifetime.

The passport and visa system, the entire concept of immigration controls and nationality is a crime against humanity and should be abolished and rethought. It's one of the world's greatest generators of misery and death.
