Things I care about in no particular order:
- bike to work
- copywriting, technical writing
- data ownership
- imprisoning fascists
- ITMFA
- reading books
- giving the finger to The Man in 2025
If a mid-tier bicycle company selling bikes that start around $2,500 offers employees "free" bicycles but employees have to buy the bike at cost up front and are then reimbursed a few pennies on the KM but only when they commute to work, that's not a free bike, that's ridiculously cheap advertising.

And, final thought of th day, I have a front row seat to watching my employer destroy it's brand for no reason other than high profitability simply isn't good enough anymore.

In other news, I saw that some big fruity company has more now-year overpriced phones they want me/you/the world to buy. Phones have been exceptional for years -- why would I need a new one.
Unless... I did recently hear about GrapheneOS. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious about it.

I tried Organic Maps for the first time today and overall I was a little surprised at how useable it was. I'm comparing it mostly to Google Maps.
I miss the photos in Google maps, but for basic navigation I think Organic Maps might be one of the better way to de-google while still using Android.

After trying #immich, it is beyond me how much better search is compared to #Synology #Photos' search.

So the other day it occured to me that instead of posting something to Instagram, maybe I'd be happier deleting a few things from Instagram.

I keep starting a book, getting busy with life, setting the book aside for a few months, forgetting what was going on, and then restarting the same book. I've been doing this for at least a year.

There's a pointy mountain I get to see whenever I fly to Oregon, daylight permitting. I don't have much to say about it. Regardless, it's home and it certainly feels as such.

Oh, look what normal countries do when a former president leads a far right coup attempt.
