More people have died in ICE detention in 2025 than any year since 2004.

The government has a legal and moral obligation to provide people in its custody with medical care and livable conditions.
Four ICE detainee deaths in four days spark alarm as arrests grow
At least 30 detainees have died in 2025, prompting concerns about deteriorating conditions at facilities even as the agency has received an infusion of cash from Congress.

Australian here 👋

Stop saying the tragedy in Sydney demonstrates that strict gun laws don’t work.

There were ZERO mass shootings in Australia in the two decades after strict gun laws were passed in 1996.

We have so much we need to do, but strict gun laws remain a critical part of the solution.

NGO Al-Haq warns proposed “Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration & Transformation Trust” would place Gaza under a US-admin foreign trusteeship with Israel. The plan sidelines Palestinians, turns Gaza into a commercial zone for foreign investors, and undermines the right to self-determination.

These women are on the front-lines of the fight against the Network State, their land is being actively colonized by tech fascists, their country is subjected to huge election interference because of this.

Real people are suffering from this, being attacked by this, fighting this.

Please share. It is important to hear and lift the voices of those directly impacted by the Network State. + Beautiful photos

Same for Indigenous nations under Canadian apartheid.

The colonizer government creates the perfect storm for corruption.

Then when corruption happens, all the colonizers gnash their teeth and bemoan the <insert down low racist adjectives> natives.

I am convinced that most white people support Ukraine because they’re a white, blond country even though it is a country with a documented history and current relationship with fascism.
If this happened to a country outside of the West they wouldn’t care

It’s funny to me that all these Ukraine supporters ignore that Ukraine is in the middle of a massive scandal of corruption with western money. It’s so bad that Zelenskyy could be ousted.
You’d think there would be an uproar but no. If it were an African country the reaction would be the opposite
If you have to ask that question you don't spend a lot of time thinking about history. The mess in Ukraine has been going on for more than a decade. It will not end there. The war is coming whether we want it or not because Putin does want it. We ignore that at our peril.

The sidebar here is her acknowledgement that Israel is at WAR. Meaning war crimes apply to Israeli leadership, not only crimes against humanity.

Sure, it only matters for the moral high ground, since no one will take Netanyahu into custody.

But a better journalist would have been all over that.

These people were not paid for the extraction of their labor. We need California law to catch up and @governor.ca.gov to stop this AI deal NOW 🛑

“Person of the year” means nothing & is often vile. It’s a 1932 photo they copying (“Lunch Atop a Skyscraper") to alter its place in the public imagination tho that photo was staged. Staging a photo doesn’t make gen ai equal; this is gen ai proponents doing ‘perception as process’ thing again.

They regularly sue real artists who are influenced by their characters, but will allow this mess? I do think they’ll still sue people who make slop but then try to profit from it. It can’t be copywritten either. So they’ll benefit ultimately. Also 1B is like 3 dollars to them or something.

Netflix House is a trap. They just opened up one in Dallas. By entering, you will be signing away your image & likeness along with your child’s image & likeness, with no compensation at that. If y’all hate AI as much as y’all say, don’t go in there. Imagine how far this can really go…
