Another day, another Firefox release. What fresh AI "features" will I have to disable?

Mozilla, I'm begging you, please stop wasting dev time on this crap. Fix the underlying performance and security issues instead.

Let’s Be Clear: The Rioting In LA Is By The Cops, Not The Protestors
I already wrote about the GOP’s bloodthirsty desire to use the military on Americans. They manufactured a nonsense “crisis” by over-aggressively sending in ICE agents to grab people off the streets, leading to protests, which were focused on provoking protestors into violence, which would then be used to justify an even more violent crackdown. Given that, it’s crucial to get actual reports from what’s actually happening on the street, rather than relying on questionable media framing by those not actually there.

People of conscience should not permit this man to give an interview that isn't about the human cost of massacring USAID ever again.
David Pogue: “I’m wondering what your thought is on the ban on foreign students, the proposal. I mean, you were one of those kids, right?”
Elon Musk: “Yeah. I mean, I think we wanna stick to, you know, the subject of the day, which is, like, spaceships, as opposed to, you know, presidential policy"

everyone should listen to this in its entirety but journalists should listen to it multiple times. this is how you ask questions. you just keep asking simple, easily answerable stuff and the evasiveness becomes that much more glaring
In which the Department of Homeland Security struggles to answer a very simple question: "Is any criticism of the United States government a deportable offense?"

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID.

This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC.

What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.
Elon Musk: "We will make mistakes. We won't be perfect ... so for example, with USAID, one of the things we accidentally canceled very briefly was ebola prevention."

NOEM: Well, we can't trust the government anymore

BIG surveillance news: Late yesterday, in a long-awaited ruling, a district court in Brooklyn held that the FBI’s Section 702 queries violated the 4th Amendment.

This is a major constitutional ruling on one of the most abused provisions of FISA.

I'm going to visit family over Xmas. I noticed that #OpenStreetMap is very incomplete in their area, so I'm spending my Saturday night adding in missing details.

“MSNBC has quietly taken three of its Muslim broadcasters out of the anchor’s chair since Hamas’s attack on Israel last Saturday amid America’s wave of sympathy for Israeli terror victims.”

Incredibly fucked up.
