This was the first time Sunderland have ever come from 2+ goals down to win a Premier League game, with this the 188th time they have trailed by 2+ goals in a game in the competition (D10 L177). This time feels different.

Thomas Frank said Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea “hurts massively”.

But the hurt was magnified by public displays of dissent by players and fans.

It is getting difficult to ignore the parallels between Frank and the ill-fated tenure of Nuno Espirito Santo.

My #FM26 beta experience has markedly improved with the three hot fixes this week. UI is still an adjustment and will need tinkering over the next few game cycles. The 3D visuals and in and out of possession tactics are massive wins!

Getting ready to see Oasis tomorrow, saw #SAFC claw their way back to a win. This is dreamland if there ever was one.

A very pleasant surprise to represent subscribers for matchday two of @theathletic.com PL predictions game. Felt compelled to back the lads to get all three points at Burnley - even if my brain is screaming draw. #SAFC
It's week two of @theathletic.com Premier League predictions game.
Each week I'll take on a subscriber, a data algorithm and 6-year-old Wilf.

Scenes eight years in the making at the Stadium of Light after @SunderlandAFC return to the Premier League with a 3-0 win over West Ham

The noise at the Stadium of Light was immense as I heard it on the broadcast. The supporters have a huge role this year in getting the Lads over the line, and those in attendance today did more than their part. #SAFC

This morning, a long-ish read on Sheffield Wednesday. Feels like no-one's... doing anything about a situation that is getting much worse on a near daily basis.

Sheffield Wednesday are decaying, and no-one is doing a thing to prevent it
They're supposed to be celebrating their 160th anniversary, but instead a club from the home of football is on the brink and the silence is deafening.

Lots of storylines with #SAFC playoff campaign. One I will fondly remember is that the earliest of the five goals we scored came in the 68th minute. Highlights energy levels and (more importantly) a never-say-die attitude that speaks volumes about the character of the players and staff.

Eliezer Mayenda turned 20 yesterday and his late winner gave Sunderland a 2-1 win over Coventry City today.

The youngster has lived in three countries, played in four leagues, speaks five languages and has been key to this season's promotion drive.

What’s in a name?

Most of our club nicknames find roots in their colours, the industry they came from or local folklore.

Sunderland however, whose moniker ‘The Black Cats’, is shrouded in mystery.

I remember campaigners saying a few years ago they struggled to get players involved as they would be worried about the response they’d get from the crowds. Great to see two young players like Dan Neil and Jobe modelling the new kit promoting diversity. Sport should be for everybody #SAFC
