Just a humble hack lawyer and (now) former academic. Defiantly ‘a lefty lawyer’. Specialisms in matrimonial finance and family trusts. Interests in media law, sentencing policy and all things law. Brilliant at typos. Also NorthernFell@bsky.social

I've spent decades arguing against the perpetual "they don't make 'em like they used to" refrain a/b cinema (they don't make original ideas anymore, latest tech/genre/trend ruins cinema). The patterns repeat in such glaringly obvious ways, yet people just seem incapable of seeing or admitting it.

When, during the local election campaign, did mainstream journalists mention Farage's links with Russia, Trump, and Andrew Tate? The mainstream news media is helping Farage and fascism by turning a blind eye to the damning truth of who and what he is.

Labour must take responsibility for a battering caused by legitimising far right Reform rhetoric and culture war bullshit.

They have the majority to stop it, they need to find their balls, fast. If they carry on they’re not just bending themselves over the barrel, but all of us.

I’m the opposite of a monarchist, but this is an appropriate gesture from Canada’s head of state, given the hungry noises from our neighbour to the south…

Christ Durham - you should be truly ashamed of yourselves.

Anyone from Durham here who can throw some light on this utterly shameful act?
Darren Grimes is now Councillor Darren Grimes.

I imagine he's commissioned a big sign to that effect and possibly some business cards too - as well as a stable for his rosette.

Labour’s plan to fit all new homes with solar panels is a fabulous idea. It will help slash energy bills to the tune of up to £1k a year. This is what the green economy is all about.
