Even if we have another election and Dems win how do they rectify any of this? Trust on all sides is gone. I’m tired of “we have to fight” slogans. I just don’t see reality setting in. This is political upheaval worldwide. Something dramatic will have to happen.

The entire world is in chaos today. The unrest on all sides of the political spectrum is palpable. Alliances are shifting. Institutions are failing. Most alive today have not experienced entire world instability. But we’re about to find out.

I liked my relatively peaceful life, a lot. MAGA actually seems to thrive on chaos. They openly admit they voted for this. It’s not just a cult, it’s a sickness.

Every revolution requires an opposition leader. It’s just the way it is and always has been. It can start at the grassroots but it needs that individual who can rally people. Trump’s opposition doesn’t have one. Yet.

I am convinced we are no longer a functioning democracy. We still have some of the “trappings,” but when institutions are scared of the executive you have crossed the red line. No clue if or how we can come out of this. Once we let the man who orchestrated 1/6 get back in power it was over.

I felt fury when Clinton’s exploits were ignored by so many or when the public was willing to elect predator Trump in 2016/24. Forgive me for not believing that powerful men will ever be held accountable. We’ll listen to the victims a bit and then someone will figure out how to blame them instead.

I finally read “Abundance” by @ezraklein.bsky.social and Derek Thompson. A fantastic book. I don’t understand why the left has criticized it so much. The book gets to the heart of why so many of us are disillusioned in our institutions and leaders. Anyway it’ll be my pick for book club.

This is the only SM site I’m on. Everyday I consider leaving. The Coldplay kiss cam episode was funny but also sad. How quickly it devastated lives. Ok yea, cheating was going on. But it’s not my business. I say things on here that I probably shouldn’t. Our privacy deficit is growing exponentially.

Something feels off. The collapse of both Congress and the SC seems off. Yes, a bunch are actually aligned with Trump on a lot of this and also feel their futures are tied to him. But this wholesale collapse reeks of blackmail too. Putin couldn’t have dreamed of a better outcome. But maybe he did.
