Louisiana is on my bucket list to visit (someday, if/when the U.S. feels safe for visitors again). I've met so many lovely folks from there over the years. Met quite a few in 2024 during the World Acadian Congress here in N.S.

MIL always said evaporated milk is the best substitute.
But if you can’t get that, I’d try heavy whipping cream. Fussells is 23% M.F., and isn’t a super thick product. It sloshes fairly freely in the tin. 😊
