Fuelled by lukewarm coffee and hope for a better world. Fan of forests, fireflies, dark skies and the sunrise.

Every time I see this compost bin while out walking in my neighbourhood, I smile. So do the local kids!

Unbeknownst to me (until now), my husband captured me enjoying tonight’s sunset.

The colours really were this amazing! Hope you all have a great week.

And so the sun sets on another Sunday.

Palette of soft colours used to paint the night sky. Nice view to kick off the weekend.

The snow has started to fly here this morning, making me extra glad my tree went up yesterday.

No decorations yet, but the cozy lighting brings me joy.

Was at a craft fair yesterday and a vendor said "Psst. Are you offended by swear words?"

I laughed and said no. She motioned me over: "Check out the hidden messages on our dishcloths!"

I needed a few fun stocking stuffers. And what better message than this for the times we are in?! WTF indeed.

Forest puddles have been few and far between on my walks these last few months. But today I got to admire and capture this beauty.

It’s that time of year again! Dug the Fussell’s Cream out of the cupboard and made Lassy Buns (a tasty, soft molasses/ginger treat).

My Newfoundlander husband loves these, especially because I use his mom’s recipe and it reminds him of childhood winters.

Sign of the times! Spotted on my way to Dartmouth this morning (I am the passenger).

When they were younger, my kids used to say I liked news more than they liked their toys because of all the different newspapers that were always around.

So this was an appropriate and amusing gift (thrift store find) from one of them. It has a partial “article” featured on the back, too.😂

Drove by this vibrant view earlier and just had to pull over to admire it for a bit.

As L.M. Montgomery wrote, "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers."

I enjoyed the incredibly rich hues of tonight’s suburban sunset. Calm in the chaos!

I was on vacation last week and got to enjoy the fall colours. This trail path really stood out in terms of its peaceful (and somewhat magical) vibe.

Social media post from Gander International Airport about catfishing incidents and broken hearts.

"In recent months, airport staff have witnessed a troubling trend: people arriving at the airport to meet “loved ones” they’ve been speaking to online, only to discover that the person doesn’t exist."

and call out, "Stay awhile."
The light flows from their branches..”

Found a beautiful spot to reflect on this autumn afternoon.

Tuesday night riverbank reflections. Love these brief escapes from the carnival of chaos that surrounds us.

Indeed! And my husband is a huge fan on moose. In fact we had moose stew last night (using bottled moose meat from his dad).

Tomorrow is officially fall, but we saw a lot of autumn’s splendour during today’s backroad travels. #PassengerViews

I don’t believe there is ever a bad time to share the words from Jack Layton’s last letter to Canadians.
