A lot of people who are angry with Labour are going to sit out the local elections. That's just what Farage and the Brexit media want.

If you're fed up with Labour then vote LibDems or Green. Don't help fascism by abstaining.

We urgently need to burst Farage's bubble.

The Welsh told the Saxons this hill was called "pen" (meaning "hill"). The Saxons added their word for hill, "tor," and called it Torpen (hill hill).

Later the Norse added their world for hill. So it became Torpen Haugr (Hill Hill Hill).

Now the English call it Torpenhow Hill (Hill Hill Hill Hill)

This thread…damn. ❤️
Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.

Give it a read... And follow the Bear (the book is worth buying too)
Apropos of nothing, today I'm sharing a full chapter of 'Bear Necessities of Politics and Power'.

The chapter discusses Fascism.

Make of it what you will.

Good morning, people. I hope you're all well today, the political situation notwithstanding. Let us remember that, whatever the government, we ourselves can be kind and decent and that that, in itself - the protection of our own psychological space - is a form of resistance. Stay safe out there.

Nobody got rich on their own.
Elizabeth Warren's observation also underpins the argument as to why it is right for the rich to say their fair share of tax.

I know there are all sorts of problems with the supply of grapes - certainly linked to the weather.
However, is importing them from Peru (yes, PERU) really a solution with all the CO2 costs associated with that?
