New Hampshire is contemplating closing its State Library! It’s the oldest in the USA. It’s a great place for family history and local history. The genealogy room contains one of a kind manuscripts and resources. Write to your state representative to stop this nonsense! www.wmur.com/article/new-...

"Tariffs cause inflation and recession." That is the message. Short and simple, repeated everywhere. We have to get out ahead of the Republican noise machine that is trying to blame the coming economic downturn on Biden.

We are probably heading for a recession. And the stock market is likely going down. What are good strategies to preserve retirement accounts? I don't think we'll have Social Security at the levels(if at all) to depend on. I won't have a decade to recover like I did last time.

@msnbc.com I've heard you are cancelling @joy.msnbc.com I'm still mad about your cancelling Melissa Harris Perry and Tiffany Cross. We need strong black women's voices. It's a bad look to bend the knee in advance.

The genealogy community has lost a giant.
My dear friend and colleague Robert Charles Anderson passed away yesterday. Bob was the finest scholar in the field of #Genealogy I had ever known. A library of knowledge is now gone, yet preserved in his scholarship with @americanancestors.bsky.social He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Today, I received an image of the apprenticeship record for the first of my 6 generation line of master gingerbread bakers. It is dated 1620. His baptism occurred in 1601. I love #genealogy

And with the stroke of a pen social security benefits that public sector workers earned have been restored. I will be able to retire someday.

For a lot of reasons I am preparing to not contribute to the consumer economy in a couple of weeks. We did some stocking up to hedge against rising prices due to bad economic policies and corporate greed.

In honor of discovering my Bavarian ancestors (back to 1600!) I have been making German foods. I made gingerbread for Christmas, since I come from a long line of master gingerbread bakers (17th to 19th centuries from father to son). Tonight I tried making gluten free spätzel. It worked perfectly.

Please contact your Senators to ensure this gets passed. Senator Schumer is bringing it to the floor THIS WEEK. It has bipartisan support.

Passage would really help public school teachers and other government employees. We need WEP and GPO to be repealed. www.usatoday.com/story/news/2...
