@Kevin I'd have been happy if my company didn't run out of money, or if they could have run out of money in the spring where I could have enjoyed the weather more

@Kevin I never have that much time, always trying to be outside on weekends. but now I have a bunch and it's too cold for recreational bike rides and other outdoor things. should be a good challenge and make my baking better on easier things

@ericmbudd.com throughout the election, (from afar) I never got the impression that Sliwa didn't love the city, just that his policies are probably bad. Unlike Cuomo who clearly despises the city and everyone and everything.

A local example: the people fighting bike lanes on Broadway kept saying they were for "commuters".

I.e. the high school students and CRLS staff, who bike in massive numbers, are not _real_ Cambridge residents and therefore it's OK for them to be injured.

If you're not in a car, you're not real.

* Tolling roads through parks. DCR roads (Storrow, people cutting through the Blue Hills) could be tolled tomorrow. Put a gantry on each side so people using the park don't pay.

Roads through parks (93 through Fells, 128 thru Blue HIlls) too, parks are natural barriers to bypassing via local roads.

@bikepedantic.bsky.social mix in a VMT tax as part of registration to reduce overall driving distance, especially important for AVs that can just circle the block

@thejeffbyrnes.com there's so much 1 story retail in places like Cambridge Mass Ave that could easily be a ton of housing over retail

@notalegalrecord.net actual conversation I had at a public meeting recently:

them: they can ride their bike on another street, they don't need a bike lane here

me: so which street can we close to cars?

them: I don't understand

me: if we can close a road to bikes, then we should close another […]

Please don't talk to us about the blind spots this system has that lead to the owner's downfall...

[minor climate doom]

@Kevin @SnoopJ yeah, in 2015 there was talk about how there would be a small temperature band where we would actually jump up massively in snow, then once we went past that range massive decrease in snow

[minor climate doom]

@SnoopJ I remember being in CT mid 2000s and not getting much snow but hearing Boston got a bunch. Then I moved to Boston and for the most part, been underwhelmed. The obvious exceptions were a singular huge storm in 2014 and the 6 weeks of 2015. There were a few other good […]
