ER doc here! This is a lie. Wait times are up because the American healthcare system is an unsustainable business model and a for-profit national healthcare system just doesn’t work. These problems will continue to get worse until we change that system. It literally has nothing to do with immigrants
Vance: "If you're an American citizen & you've been to the hospital in the last few years, you've probably noticed wait times are especially large & very often somebody who's there in the ER is an illegal alien. Why do those people get healthcare benefits at hospitals paid for by American citizens?"

Just like when I was a kid smoking cigarettes was good for you. Corporations by definition protect their interests, not yours.
An important point. I’m sure there are a lot of ways scientists and science communicators can do better, but as long as organized and funded political disinformation campaigns are rampant and unconstrained, we’re fighting a real uphill battle.
This is shocking. Before anyone says it's the biggest failure ever seen in science communication, it's not (all) our fault! It's politically driven disinformation

Foreign interference for sure
The National Post is owned by an American firm. Looks like they don't want Carney to win.

This is foreign interference by our enemy. Canada needs to ban foreign ownership of our media. We need to do it now.
No fewer than four anti-Carney articles at the top of the NP’s website today. Looks like there was a directive to drop anything else.

Driving in Vancouver is such a joke. Oak street construction proves we need one or two more crossings minimum to south of Fraser and another sky train line.

Measles vaccinations fell to 40% during pandemic, before it was 85-90%. people aren’t getting vaccine because of many factors, including vaccine fatigue

Who would have imagined that having to get a series of Covid shots would lead people to give up on vaccines that have saved lives for decades?

Now we see the raw, cruel and self-interested face of Trump's "America First." We understand its true meaning.

So why has Poilievre chosen "Canada First" as his slogan?
A clear echo of Trump.

If you’re participating in the economic blackout today - thank you!

You can make impactful purchasing decisions every day. You can buy local, from small and minority owned businesses.

You can avoid large corporations who align with fascist values.

Vote with your wallet.

Measles outbreak in Ontario results in 18 kids hospitalized, including one who required intensive care.

This was preventable. We had all but eradicated measles with an incredibly effective vaccine.

Children are relying on the adults. When you choose not to vaccinate, you put their lives at risk
